Students Change School’s Cell Phone Policy

Q: What if cell phones aren’t allowed at your school?

A: Have the students campaign to change the policy via inquiry-based learning!

As a response to strict policies in schools, students have joined forces with teachers at Muscatine Middle School to eliminate a cell phone ban.

In her blog post below, Penny Burger chronicles the proactive actions of her heavily armed students. Fully loaded with a student-produced video and flashmob performance for their assembly, the students convince the school that cell phones are necessary for their education.

We love their slogans: “Can’t Text This” and “Use Ur Cell Well” to encourage responsible use.
