Magnetic Appeal

Have you ever had an online class, or in Emily Daly’s case a virtual chat, where you plan on directing one eye on the computer screen and the other, well, no-so-much on the computer screen, but then something on that screen catches your attention? Read about Emily Daly’s experience during an Association of College & Research Libraries virtual chat.  Emily was drawn into the chat focused on Poll Everywhere and she writes on her experience.

I couldn’t agree with Emily more in her statement that live response polling contributes “to a higher quality instruction session.”  Polls, whether open-ended or multiple choice, engage students and they become eager to participate.  This post also includes a link to an Educause article speaking, in a general way, about open-ended response systems.

(Disclaimer: All my Wilkes’ professors get my undivided attention during online classes).
